Tips for Family Shoots

Considerations:​

 - If the weather looks like rain or is particularly windy we may have to reschedule.
- It's a good idea to take sunglasses off 30 mins before the shoot to allow nose pad indents to disappear.
- You can wear prescription glasses, just be aware that I may ask you to tilt your head one way or the other to reduce glare to see your eyes. 
- Avoid wearing picture shirts with large logos, neon colours or busy patterns as this draws a lot of visual attention in the image and you probably want the attention to be on the faces. 
- You can choose to dress casual or more formal and communicate this to the group to give the image a consistent look.
- Empty your pockets as phones, keys and wallets can create bulky shapes in photos.
- Remove hair ties from wrists as they show up easily in photos.
- Consider the weather by bringing jackets or layers that still look good together if it’s cold or windy.
- If you have specific shots in mind (e.g., individual shots, siblings together) let me know so that nothing gets missed. (Feel free to send me some shots that you would like to try. I can't guarantee they will be the same but we can use them as inspiration.)
